We saw this place on Man vs. Food and had to stop to try it for ourselves. I was pretty intimidated when we drove up because this place is first and foremost a stockyard! They even had the cattle auction going the day we dined here. Anyways, I had high expectations for this place and they were certainly met. The food was incredible and the prices were awesome. We were seated by the owner of the restaurant who was a really cool and made us feel welcome despite the fact that we were only people there not wearing spurs and a cowboy hat. As far as being “out of the way,” it isn’t on the main drag, but merely three minutes from the highway. I will definitely visit again if I am ever return to Amarillo!

Because it is more “out of the way” than most places, not as many people know about this place. The only reason I found it is due to the appearance of it on the Man Vs. Food pilot episode.
I’ve had many a chicken fried steak–and the Youngblood’s Cafe may have one of the greatest ever. It’s awesome. It’s not greasy, and it’s cooked just right. It’s also pan-fried, so it’s not just pure deep-fried as most chicken fried steaks are. I’d definitely put it in the top 5 chicken fried steaks I’ve had the pleasure of eating.
This is a must-eat experience. If you are in Amarillo, you should certainly seek the Stockyard Cafe out. Make sure to plan around their stringent hours!

Great food, great service, great price.
Went with the family of six, and we tried everything from the chicken fried steak, catfish, and the burger. The fries Re okay, the potato chips are def worth trying. Their “The Davis” burger with pico de gallo, cheese, grilled onions and avocado was fab. The green salsa and c.f.s. was a delightful combo. The catfish. Perfectly ,flakey and not overly greasy. The Cajun was awesome…
We’re not from here, so thx to yelp, we found a satisfying dinner
