From Amarillo to New York and Back
Tim Youngblood is a native of Amarillo but after almost 20 years in the restaurant business in Amarillo, Tim enrolled in the prestigious Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. He graduated in 1988 with highest honors and began a career as a chef in fine dining restaurants in New York City. Although he cooked for the NYC élite and received wide acclaim at the New Yorker magazine-touted Harbor Lights Restaurant as well-being the executive sous Chef at the renowned Oak Room in the Plaza Hotel, he always wanted to return to his roots in Amarillo.
In 2000, Tim opened the Potter County Grill and one year later he received an invitation by the owners of the Amarillo Livestock Auction to move his restaurant to the Stockyards.
In March of 2013 we moved to a new Downtown Amarillo location at 620 S.W. 16th Avenue, Amarillo, Texas 79101.
Come join us at our new location! The Menu is the same great Texas Home Cookin’ as usual. The location and decor have just improved!
Tim has now turned his attention to expanding his reach to catering.
